The Division of Population Health Sciences (DPHS) in the Department of Surgery was created in November 2023 to conduct research and train scientists to lead human health forward by improving quality care and reducing premature mortality. The challenges we face require evidence from large studies and collaboration across multiple disciplines, communities and the private sector. As we grow and evolve, our vision will be achieved through multi-sector partnerships to drive improvements in population health outcomes.
The Division of Population Health Sciences focuses on four critical population health challenges:
- Cancer prevention and control
- Access and quality of health care
- Environmental conditions
- Aging populations
