About Cary H Meyers

Cary Meyers, MD, is an assistant professor for the University of Florida College of Medicine and a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon. Dr. Meyers earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and received post-graduate training in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Duke University Medical Center. After completing the program at Duke, Dr. Meyers went on active duty with the U.S. Navy at the National Naval Medical Center, eventually achieving the rank of Captain before retiring from service in 2012. He then served as the medical director of the cardiovascular operating room at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee, as well as attending trauma surgeon and medical director of Wellmont’s Vein Care Center. His previous academic appointments include assistant professor of surgery at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and clinical assistant professor of surgery at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Meyers currently practices at the UF Health Heart and Vascular Surgery program at Halifax Health, where he focuses on transcatheter aortic valve replacement and endovascular thoracic aneurysm repair. His current practice also includes the full spectrum of thoracic oncology patients where he uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide each patient the best possible outcome.
