What were you looking for in a residency program? Large breadth and volume of cases, resident camaraderie, abundant research opportunities, robust educational program, strong faculty mentors, supportive learning and training environment.

What are the strengths of the UF program? UF offers excellent clinical and research training within a supportive academic environment. The attendings provide the residents with an optimal balance of autonomy and guidance, and they serve as great career mentors. All the residents support each other and enjoy spending time with each other both inside and outside the hospital. UF is a great place to learn and train, but what really makes it outstanding is the people.

What do you like best about living in Gainesville? The weather is nice year-round which makes it possible to do outdoor activities. There are great walking and biking trails, as well as places to grab food and drinks. It is a fun college town and there are lots of great sports to watch. The football games are always fun and UF Surgery hosts tailgate parties for every home game.
