Daniel S. Demos, MD

Daniel S. Demos, MD, is an assistant professor in the division of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He is board-certified in general surgery and cares for patients in the UF Health Shands Hospital and UF Health Heart & Vascular Hospital intensive care units.

Dr. Demos completed his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, followed by a general surgery residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. He then spent one year as a thoracic and cardiovascular surgery fellow, followed by a fellowship in anesthesia critical care at the UF College of Medicine.

Prior to joining UF Health, Dr. Demos was a co-coordinator and patient care volunteer at the Cass Health Care Clinic in Detroit. He is currently a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Critical Care Medicine and was previously a member of the Detroit Surgical Association for five years.

Dr. Demos is accredited in fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery, basic life support, advanced cardiac life support and advanced traumatic life support. He has contributed to peer-reviewed articles and has presented his medical research at the local, regional and national level.
