We’re proud to announce that the Department of Surgery has had five residents inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society! Congratulations to:
Jeremy Balch, M.D., Ph.D.
Michael Kabbash, M.D.
Jordan McKean, M.D., M.P.H.
Michael Spinosa, M.D.
Whitman Wiggins, M.D.
Tyler Loftus, M.D., Ph.D., an associate professor in the Department of Surgery and program director of its general surgery residency program, said this is a large number of inductees for a single year.
“We had more inductees in the general surgery residency than any other training program in the college of medicine,” Loftus said. “We think this recognition is well deserved by our trainees for their academic excellence through leadership, service and research that evolves the standard of care; most of all, it represents their deep commitment to providing the best care possible inside and outside the operating room.”
