Congratulations to Johan Nordenstam, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of surgery, on being recognized by the North Tower operating room team as the April Provider of the Month!
Nordenstam was chosen due to his unwavering dedication to patient care, education and teamwork in the North Tower OR. His nominations also highlight the welcoming atmosphere he fosters, making staff, students and residents feel comfortable.
Launched last year, the Provider of the Month initiative recognizes health care providers who consistently make a difference in the operating room.
Erin S. East, CST, surgical tech facilitator, says staff enjoy celebrating their colleagues, and that this initiative highlights the kindness, leadership and collaboration that make a difference in the operating room.
“So far, the impact has been overwhelmingly positive,” East said. “This appreciation extends to surgeons, anesthesia providers, outstanding residents and any team members who make a difference.”
Nordenstam said he was thankful and honored to be recognized and credited his success in the operating room to the special people he works with.
“Many talented, competent and hardworking people — who together choose to go the extra mile for one patient — make a good operating room.”
