Philip A. Efron, MD, FACS, FCCM, Associate Professor, Acute Care SurgeryPhillip A. Efron, M.D. FACS, FCCM, a professor of surgery and anesthesiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine and medical director for the UF Health Shands Hospital surgical intensive care units and respiratory therapy, has accepted the position of associate editor of Critical Care Explorations, a journal covering all aspects of critical care. Critical Care Explorations is the official journal of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and reports on new ideas, discusses healthcare economics, and analyzes the impact of new studies on evidence-based practice. In his role with the journal, Efron will receive mentorship from the editor-in-chief of Critical Care Explorations, as well as the editor-in-chief of Critical Care Medicine, a journal that sees over 2000 submissions a year. This opportunity puts him on track for upward growth in both publications, further developing his skills as an editor.
