UF Department of Surgery Moves Up in Clerkship Rankings
The University of Florida’s department of surgery has moved up to fourth out of seventh place among clerkship rotations with regards to clinical experience and third out of seventh place with regards to educational sessions at the UF College of Medicine. At the UF College of Medicine, third-year medical students rotate through seven different departments to gain educational and hands-on clinical experience. In addition, students are also given an array of online lectures to watch at their convenience. The department of surgery’s overall goal is to continue enhancing the educational environment and to have students exit the rotation with key skills to be successful in their medical career. At the end of each school year, students rank their educational experience, clinical experience and overall experience of each rotation. The surveys provide the department with an opportunity learn what medical students valued most from their rotation, as well as opportunities for improvement. Keep up the good work!
