Thomas Huber, M.D., Ph.D., Receives David A. Paulus Award for Clinical Excellence

Thomas S. Huber, MD, PhDThe UF Department of Surgery is excited to announce that Thomas Huber, M.D., Ph.D., is the 2019 recipient of the David A. Paulus Award for Clinical Excellence. This award is bestowed annually to a member of the University of Florida College of Medicine who best demonstrates the ideals of clinical excellence manifested by Dr. David Paulus’ legacy of making a difference through patient care. Throughout his career, Dr. Paulus served with an unfailing moral compass, valued teamwork and stayed highly engaged at every level of a patient’s care.

Dr. Huber is a professor, and chief of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy at the UF College of Medicine. He also serves as a vice chairman of the department of surgery, for which he has been a faculty member for more than 17 years. His research focuses on improving the success rates of fistulas for hemodialysis access, and he has published and presented extensively.
