Mauricio Pipkin, M.D., has joined the University of Florida College of Medicine as an assistant professor in the division of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery.
Pipkin earned his medical degree from Lutheran University of Brazil, where he also completed a general surgery residency. He completed a thoracic surgery residency at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, as well as fellowships in thoracic surgery and lung transplantation at Toronto General Hospital/University Health Network through the University of Toronto.
Pipkinās clinical interests include thoracic oncology, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, lung transplantation, extracorporeal life support, ex vivo lung perfusion, in vivo isolated lung perfusion and robotic surgery.
He has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in medical textbooks.
