Scott Berceli, M.D., Ph.D., a professor in the department of surgery’s division of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy, has received a University of Florida Research Foundation Professorship award.
Berceli’s research focuses on vein bypass graft failure and includes computational models of such failure, in an effort to pinpoint the cause of the problem.
His professorship will last for three years, ending in 2017. He will receive a $3,000 grant to support his research and, for each of the three years, a $5,000 salary supplement.
“University of Florida Research Foundation (UFRF) Professorships are awarded to tenured faculty members who have a distinguished current record of research,” according to the website of the UF Office of Research. “The purpose of these awards is to recognize recent contributions and to provide incentives for continued excellence in research.”
