Study by UF vascular surgery researchers receives honor from The American Physiological Society

Zhihua Jiang, Ph.D.A recently published paper authored by Zhihua Jiang, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the UF department of surgery’s division of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy, and a team of other researchers in the division, has been recognized by The American Physiological Society with its APSselect designation. APSselect is “a collection from the APS that showcases some of the best recently published articles in physiological research,” according to a statement from the organization.

The article, titled “Hypertension overrides the protective effect of female hormones on the development of aortic aneurysm secondary to Alk5 deficiency via ERK activation,” was published in the American Journal of Physiology Heart and Circulatory Physiology. Less than 5 percent of articles published in this journal receive this honor.
