Alex Cuenca, M.D., a UF surgical resident, received an award for “Best Basic Science Presentation” from the American College of Surgeons’ Region IV Committee on Trauma. He received the award in November for presentation of a research project comparing burn and thermal injury response in humans and certain laboratory models used for study.
