Two University of Florida Department of Surgery faculty have been named among the 2016-2017 University Term Professors through the UF College of Medicine.
Scott A. Berceli, M.D., Ph.D., is a professor in the division of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy.
Philip Efron, M.D., FACS, FCCM, is an associate professor of surgery and anesthesiology; the medical director for the UF Health Shands Hospital cardiac and surgical intensive care units and respiratory therapy; and the co-director of the Laboratory of Inflammation Biology and Surgical Science.
The University Term Professorship Program rewards outstanding academic achievement. Berceli and Efron are among 40 UF faculty members — and the first cohort — to receive the three-year designation.
