Mira plays a lead role on a multidisciplinary committee that revised the after visit summary, or AVS, for surgical and medical patients. The quality-improvement initiative aims to simplify discharge instructions that patients receive before they leave the hospital, to reduce the risk of readmission.

He is also a member of the sepsis care redesign committee, the housewide CMS Core Measures sepsis team and the medication reconciliation process improvement team.

Patient Safety and Quality Week, presented by the UF Health Sebastian Ferrero Office of Clinical Quality and Patient Safety, took place March 13-17.
